irregular verbs: be - begin - cut- catch- do - drink go- give - have - write

verbos regulares: são verbos que mantém o seu radical e acrescenta-se a terminação ed.

Em casos específicos quando o verbo regular termina em y e está antecedido de consoante, acrescenta-lhe ied. Exemplo: cry - cried; study- studied.

play - played- work- worked- live- lived- study- studied

Explicação:

verbos irregulares são verbos que não mantém o seu radical nem tem a terminação em ed, como acontece com os verbos regulares.

O verbo regular é aquele que permanece bem parecido no tempo passado. Costuma-se apenas acrescentar as letrinhas ED ao final dele, como você pode ver nos exemplos abaixo:

work – worked;

talk – talked;

watch – watched.

Se o verbo já terminar com a letra E, basta acrescentar a letra D :

love – loved;

smile – smiled;

like – liked.

verbo irregular é aquele que não segue as regras que vimos acima. O passado deste verbo é bem diferente de seu infinitivo. Mas como fazemos para aprender a usar esses verbos? Aqui, meu amigo, não tem outro remédio além da decoreba pura!

Mas não se apavore, pois alguns desses verbos são tão usados que fica fácil lembrar deles. Aliás, aposto que você já vai reconhecer alguns dos que estão alistados abaixo:

do – did;

go – went;

have – had;

become – became;

get – got;

know – knew;

teach – taught;

write – wrote;

break – broke;

eat – ate;

feel – felt.
